Found these really nice photographs posted on CNN.com for reference. It is stated in the article that the photos are in their original state -- not retouched, not colorized.
Here's the link (if anyone is interested):

Nice photo's, wish we had more...
The caption on the photo of Monty briefing the King should read 'And here is where I'll drop the 1st Airborne Division's boys so that they can be slaughtered'.

Even the best digital images can't compare to Kodachrome film. BTW, Kodak is going to produce Ektachrome slide film again; it should be available at the end of this year. Also, Kodak is considering the same with Kodachrome 64.

Check out the Life Magazine archives at Getty Images. Life essentially pioneered the use of color photography in print. If you've ever seen the famous Life photos taken in North Africa, you'll know what I'm referring to.

Actually, it appears to me that some of the images may have been retouched and/or colorized — most likely in the darkroom.

Back in the day, I ran a photo lab and used to process those films. 🎞 They were really great in their time ... but I'm never going into a darkroom again! 🤢
Nice images, non-the-less. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers!🍺

I especially like the photo (#7) of the crew cleaning the gun barrel of their Crusader tank in Tunisia. I smell a dio brewing.

For those on Facebook, here is an album of mostly color pics https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.892445970911412&type=3
I retrieved from a site called www.pixpast.com. The site is the online display of Irish photo collector named Ian Spring. Great images!

I like that photo as well, but after staring at it for a while, I was wondering what that guy in the white tank-top is holding? Is he cleaning a vision port glass? At first glance, it looked like an iPad!📱LOL!
