Hello gents!!

It´s been a long time since my last post. As I took some holidays on christmas and I have been upgrading my airsoft gun, I had not much time for the dio. Now I´ve retaken it and I can post some updates.

The pecheneg gunner is finished and fixed on his place.

And the Marcus Luttrell figure is also done. I painted him as the clothing Mark Whalberg was wearing in Lone Survivor. The arms was scratched because the figure came without, so trigger finger is not set perfectly and the scope is not just on the eye. I have also printed the shoulder patches, one of the US flag and other the Texas flag, as Luttrell wears on is uniform.

This is an overall overview from Luttrell´s position

And a general overview with the three figures already done.

Now I´m going to start with Murphy´s figure.

Best regards!!

A small update, working on Murphy's figure.

After a wash with oils

Next will be the head. I have to make some kind of beard for the face, because it cames without. I'm not sure how to make it yet.

Hi gents!!

Now I´m writing not for any update, I want to ask you for some help.

I´m trying to find any figure that fits for Matt Axelson. I´m looking for some soldier with boonie or without head gear. I only find modern soldiers with Mich/Fast helmets, Peltors, etc.

I don´t mind if he´s standing, crouched or laying, I only need that he has a fighting position.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!!!!

With Bonnie there is one from Mantis Miniatures but the pose is not good forbyour diorama.

Perhaps the head of one of the figure set "modern US tankmen in Afghanistan" from Masterbox

Well, here I go wth the figure. Let's make a try with it, let's see what happen.

First, I removed the head and sanded the lower protection of the vest (I always forget the name)

Then, I fix one head from the kit shown in the first page of my post and put some Squadron's green putty to fill the gaps.

After a first coat of primer, this is what I got

Now, I'll start to work on the head and improve the ears and make some beard. BTW, I have already make some beard for the Murphy's head.

And this is how it looks after primer

That's all for now. Thanks for taking time reading.

Cheers!

Hello again, friends!

I want to show you the weekend advances. Mainly, I have finished the Murphy´s figure and set in the dio. I´m not happy how the boonie looks, I drilled a hole to make room for the head, but I don´t like it at all. At least, it doesn´t look so bad once the figure is on its place. Judge by yourselves

Finally we had some sunny day, so I took a few pictures with daylight (sorry for some over exposed).

Luttrell´s spot:

Murphy´s spot:

This is what bad guy 1 sees:

This is what bad guy 2 is filming:

That´s all for now. I´m already working on the next figure, and I´ll begin with some more taliban soon.

Best regards, and happy week!

Thanks J.

I wish I could get just the tenth part of the dramatism in the movie (not sure if it's well written)

Hi folks!

Just a quick update. Dietz's figure is almost done. I won't use boonie this time for him. I have made hair for his head as the original came without so now I could represent the wounds and blood of his head. I have used Squadron's green putty for the hair and yellow Milliput for the beard. For the next figures I'll use Squadron's, it's easier to handle than Milliput.

Pics (not so good due to the lightning):

Next in line is some taliban fighter.

Thanks for watching!

Hi Nacho. In the past, to make a beard I have used Tamiya liquid cement (on a plastic head). Add little by little where you want the beard and add some tiny sprue shavings. let them melt and and use a toothpick to create the texture. Work small sections at a time. That usually does the trick. Try it next time. And good job so far. Cheers!

Hello modellers!!

New updates on the dio this weekend. This time I´ve been working on the terrain. I think it needs some adds, I had the feeling that I was missing something. So I have added some roots for the trees, made with rosemary branches, and some green touch on the terrain, made with parsley leaves. I have also added some SEAL's stuff over here and there. But I forgot the missing boonies, so I´ll work on them ASAP.

During the week I was working on the Dietz figure and I could finish it for the friday. Now, he´s on his spot.

As I was working on the terrain, I have been making Axe´s figure also. I have realised that I have made the head wound in the opposite side, but it was already finished.

And this is how Axe is set on the dio.

A view from above, with all the SEALs set.

That´s all for now. Sorry for the megapost. Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for taking time with this!!

Thanks for comment, Jerry! I´m glad you like the pics. If I had your hands, I´d have made long sleeves on that figure. But you´re next level!

Hi folks!!

Just a quick question. Would you leave some ammo shells over the terrain??

I think it won´t be very much visible, but I´d like to know your opinion. I only think about leave the shells
around the pecheng shooter.

Comments??

Thanks!!

Hi!!

Hope you have a great modelling weekend. I've been working on two taliban fighters for the last 2 weeks. Both are RPG shooters. I have no pics on the outside for the last fig, 'cause it's snowing here today (unbelievable).

Pics:

This is the last one finished. He's running on flip-flops, best combat gear for him

Now I would like to know your thoughs about the last 3figures display. 2 dead fighters and one shooter with an AK (I had to warm him to blend some parts because he was shooting upwards)

Thoughts???

Thank you, guys!!

The 2 RPG guys look great. As far as having spent shells around I would only put them where a lot of shooting is going on,like the one operator that is shooting upwards. He needs some brass on the ground. If it's only 1 or 2 shells, then nobody would notice that. Waste of time.
Lookin good brother,

I really like this, original concept & dramatic execution which a vertical dio is made for & the groundwork looks just right. Bravo
