On 1/48 WWII era aircraft do you guys usually airbrush the entire fuselage and wings the body color, and THEN tape off and airbrush the wheel wells, cockpit trim etc. Or do you do it the other way around by painting those areas first, taping off, then spraying the body color......sorry if a bit confusing...

Well, I usually do both,
sometimes it's easier to mask off the wheel wells,
sometimes it's easier to mask off the wings.

I tend to paint from the "inside" out. On my FW-190, i painted the wheel wells and such first, and then masked off the area. I found this to be easier - just my personal preference :-)

As a general rule I leave the large area painting until last - so cockpits and wheelwells are done first - even before they are inserted - then masked with cotton balls (can leave a few strings), pieces of foam cut to size or wet (damp) tissues.
