Hey all, my friend's son is wanting to build a humvee like the one his dad was on in Desert Storm. Does anyone make decals that cover the Marines vehicles? All help appreciated. Glad to see he is interested and want to help him all I can. Thanks, Wayne

The USMC doesn't usually use any specific, colorful markings. Usually, they only have USMC and a 6 digit serial number on them. During ODS, they also had the Coalition Chevron on them for friendly ID, each side and back. These could be found any any generic number/letter decal sheet. His best bet is to find a pic of his dad's HMMWV and model what he sees.

The good news is that most of the humvee kits will come with USMC markings and often include the chevrons.
The kit's box will often say, "markings included for...." just so you can be sure.

Thanks Gino, for the pics. Bruce, since he is just starting out I'm giving him a Tamiya kit from my stash. It doesn't have the right ones, but I got some USMC and numbers from a Mutt kit and enough chevrons from a couple of M548 kits that I'm planning on VN projects. Unfortunately his dad didn't get any pics, but I think this will work. Thanks again for the help. Wayne
