Hello, does anyone have or know where to find a set of 1/35 line drawings of a King Tiger preferably in the late war/Ardennes offensive hard edge Ambush pattern. I am building the Meng kit and have not been able to find painting masks for this cammo pattern so I will make my own but need a reference from all directions of the vehicle. Thank you very much.

I appreciate the link. Unfortunately J's workshop's template for King Tiger Ambush cammo does not look anything close to what the pattern appears to be in historical photos.

Well, there wasn't one specific pattern if that is what you are looking for.

I'm sure there were many KTs that were transferred in or made just prior to the hard edge factory applied scheme orders but there is one pattern that seems to appear over and over again. This is what I am looking for. I am surprised more people are not.






They all seem to be a little bit different but pretty darn close

Get your self a set of Watercolor Pencils and you can draw on the camo and the watercolor dissolves easy when the paint goes on or with a Small Qtip with water

Unless I am replicating a specific tank, I just approximate the look to generally match vehicles of the same time period/location.

Actually, yes there was. Starting "around" September '44 the factory applied the camo paint to the Tiger 2. In the majority of tanks seen after that time, the camo scheme was basically the same on each tank. I can't see the pics Bryan posted, but I'd guess they illustrate this.

Bryan, I don't know of any line drawing that shows the scheme from all sides. The front and left side have been pretty well documented, and the right side to a lesser degree. It's the rear and of course the top that is still kinda up in the air. I'd study available photos and make a best guess.
