A 120mm resin figure from David J. Parkins

Resin, white metal and photoetched. White metal Enfield will be replaced by its counterpart in resin from Reedees.

I just thought maybe the wee-lil' friend being cast in pewter doesn't really do it justice, but it should work when all painted up!
Looks to be a great scene, a distinct calm before the impending insanity of total war.

As the figurine does not fit properly on the base, I made a blanket with Magic Sculp (first time for me), worked with water, Green Stuff tools and other tools purchased at a good price in a supply store for creative hobbies.
The dark gray tarpaulin is a Value Gear product.

Great work. I'm happy to see WWI is receiving some attention. That resin rifle is so much nicer than the metal one. looking forward to your finished product.

I continue my sculpture tests: a sandbag in Milliput, the butt of the rifle and the bird on the bayonet with Tamiya Epoxy Putty.
I lack of technique, of course, but I have fun.

German helmet and handgrenade are from Jon Smith Modellbau, backpack is from Kirin and tent roll is from Value Gear.

This looks like a really nice kit. Not sure about the positioning though-- is he supposed to be in a trench? Great molding though.

If this is 1915 then I'm afraid there would be no steel helmets around yet.Only arrived around the time of the Somme in 1916. A Picklehaube would be more suitable. Great work so far.

thank you for your interest. I set the scene in March 1917, before the battle of Arras. It should be Ok then with the helmet.

The reason I ask it that a Lee-Enfield w/ 10rd box mag + bayonet would be hard to hold in that position for an extended period of time. I would think that his arm would start to shake fairly quickly.

You are right Joe. The rifle will be resting on a signpost, as shown on the box-art.
