Interesting. As the proud owner of nine tigers, I won't need to buy this. But seeing a kitted version of Tiki is cool. No need for AM decals, etc. Although I thought the turret numbers were 812 and 832. Anyways, it looks like they have got the muffler set up and all that.

....aaaand cue the stupid comments. Hey, you love bulbous tanks that only come in one colour. Oh wait. I forgot about the like seven that had camo. That makes you resentful and bitter - I get it. Maybe the shermaholics can take a page out of the axis modeller's notebook and not offer silly, childish barbs and infantile whining. You'll notice the thread about the new Korean Sherman isn't 75% axis modeller's stamping their feet about how it's not a Bergepanther. Incidentally, there are many more Sherman releases than Tigers on the market so you have no reason to complain - especially since the new Tamiya one even has COLOUR on it! Just to spite you guys I am going to buy the best M4 on the market and turn it into a Wehrmacht schlepper!!

I already have three early Tiger kits: Dragon 6820 sPzAbt 504 Tunisia and the RFM Tiger with interior, and I have built the Tamiya Frühe kit.
What sets "Tiki" apart from those three earlies that would make me buy a fourth early rather than getting more mids or lates, of which I only have one each?

******
As far as I can tell, I must assume the following:
a) it is marketed towards tiger nuts who until now, have not been able to get a "box ready" Tiki
b) marketed to those who are interested in tigers but have not yet made the jump?
Either way it seems DML thinks this is a good idea..

Actually this fills one of the last holes in the early Tiger variants. So no more Tiger kits need ever be released -- ever.
Whereas there are still dozens and dozens of unkitted Sherman variations that amount to more than Tuesday over Thursday with one unit serving for less than 90 days. The warranty didn't even run out.

I fudged one of these from another kit because I liked the "used" look of them. If only I had waited.
And I love olive drab.

Well, with all the posts moaning about this release, I'm surprised no one has mentioned it comes with DS tracks...🙄 Well, this does fill a hole in the tiger market, and will save some modellers having to buy AM items. Now the AM decal guys can moan too..🙄Replicating the camo will be a challenge for sure; it's very odd and unique. As for Shermans, I personally am not a fan but the version with the AMX turret looks interesting. I have two old Italeri Kangaroos so I have no doubt DML or Meng will bring one out soon!

Then why feel the need to keep commenting on a thread that doesn't interest you? I and probably the rest of us don't particularly care if you have one tiger and fifty shermans in your stash.

Hello, and now for my two cents...
One thing that has been left out of the griping in this thread. Dragon, Tamiya and other Asian kit makers do not consider the North American or European markets too much when they come up with a new kit. The major markets for them are Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and The Philippines. You can throw China, Vietnam and Thailand too for their markets as well.
I find that to be interesting in of itself.
