Everything except the stowage and the spare tracks on the turret were glued into place prior to priming/paiting the model (of course the turret was not glued to the hull).

The tracks were glued into place. I paint the tracks and wheels black during preshading, then I try to get as less paint on them as possible when spraying the basic color, except of course the wheel rims. I touch up if needed by brush. It is not that difficult once you get the hang of it. The brown/rusty part of the track is done using thick oil color and after sealing that with pigments.

Bare metal surfaces are either painted e.g. the track drive teeth or, prior to dusting, I use a soft pencil 4B or higher e.g the sprocket teeth.

Paint chipping is done in two layers, first with a lighter shade of the basic color, and after the final varnish and prior to dusting a second layer with a metallic color. Some rust streaks are done with oil color.

I do not like gluing painted stuff on my models, but I do try and figure out the best way possible to paint my model. Anything that might need painting separately e.g. stowage boxes or some tools are added prior to spraying the final varnish and before chipping and dusting.

Usually my painting and weathering process is:

Primer - Preshading (if it is a single color vehicle) - Basic color - Some highlighting in places on on some surfaces - detail painting (lights, tools, weapons, different colors etc) - gloss varnish - decals - filterwash - satin varnish - pinwash - stowage/prepainted detail addition - first layer of chipping - streaks or grime - mat varnish - second layer of chipping and bare metal surfaces - dusting.
