Hi all. I was wondering if anyone here has used Bronco workable tracks on an Asuka/Tasca Sherman Firefly?

Are the the number of tracks provided in one box enough?

Hey Mike I have used the Bronco tracks on the Tasca Firefly.
They look good and yes there is more than enough track in one box for the two tracks. But for me they seem a little over engineered and there is too much clean up.

For plastic track I personally like Panda plastics track and I use white glue to make them workable. Or ModelKasten tracks are very good too.

A Bit late but I hope this still helps you.

Hi Todd!

Thank you so much for your very valuable help! I agree-the Bronco tracks are a bit over-engineered but they do have a very comprehensive range of sherman tracks which I like... I'll definitely take your advice and use white glue. I hadn't thought of that.

By the way, great looking tanks you have there!

Tried and then went back to the rubber band tracks that came with the kit.

The Bronco tracks fall apart because if you glue them sufficiently, they aren't workable, and if you make them workable, they pieces don't stay together once you try to put them on the vehicle.

I have used Bronco tracks on several vehicles, Shermans, Stuart, etc, and have never had an issue of them falling apart or needing more glue than necessary on the pads then not being flexible. The trick is to cement the end connectors to the skeletal frame first, not after the pad halves have been glued in place. It also helps to make a simple jig to help you and only cement the centre part of the pads.

I wrote an article for my club's site a while back if you are interested:

Thanks Mike. Both Sherman’s are still works in progress. I should clarify that I only use the white glue on the end connectors of the Panda Plastics tracks to make them workable. I didn’t have to use extra glue on the Bronco tracks. I was just carful and used Testers liquid glue, and I emphasize you need to be careful with the glue if you want them to be workable.

That’s a great article by the way Peter. I still have five Bronco track kits in the stash and will use your system to build them. I just wish they were a little less time consuming.
Cheers

I'm glad you found it useful

Confirmation the tracks fit the Tasca Shermans:
