Was wondering if the Italeri kit of the M1A2 Tusk II and good?
Thought there was a review here but did not find it.
I already made a Tamiya M1A1,and added the anti-slip as by Gino, and have the Dragon M1A2 Sep, just want the latest one.
Or do I need to buy two more to have the Tusk I also?
If somebody knows where that review went would be good also.
Does the Italeri kit come with anti-slip on it?
Thanks

Cheers

AFAIK Italeri does not make a Tusk II.

Are you sure that you are talking about an Italeri kit?

Italeri doesn't make an M1A2 SEP w/TUSK II. They do/did make a straight M1A2 a while ago, but it was not a SEP and did not include any TUSK parts. The Italeri kit is based on an updated/improved Trumpeter kit.

I guess way too much coffee here then, maybe a misread on it.

Will get back too both soon, after I figure out where I went wrong.

Thanks

Bingo you got it, found it Product Code: ACA13298 .

Still the wife must back down on that Coffee though.

So this good enough for a good build of the Tusk II?

Thanks again.

Sorry there Gino , and Matt.

I bought that Italeri kit when it first came out years back, too many for me to remember actually when. I started it and never finished it.Been sitting I guess in my closet somewhere.

There is a review posted on Cybermodeler for the new Academy kit. Shows the sprues. It includes individual track links now.

Here is a good build review of it that list some good and some bad points. From memory, the original tracks sucked and there was an issue with the roadwheel spacing on the right side.

If you go to Andy’s hobby headquarters on you tube you can see a complete video build up of the academy tusk . It is a very nice kit.

More info in Pawel's comparative review (I guess the Academy parts are the same as in the new kit...) :

It looks like the road wheel spacing issue hasn't been fixed. The indy tracks in the new boxing are from DEF model, and there is one new part for the M1A2 SEP V2, but I don't know what it is. Decal options are different, for 2 vehicles stationed in Germany. There is new box art as well.

Ordered that Academy kit.
I will be on it like ants at a picnic, and that M1 I did is darker just that bright Sun makes it look all washed out.

Here's what the new sprue looks like: http://modelkitsreview.com/academy-1-35-u-s-army-m1a2-v2-tusk-ii-kit-13504/

The included indi tracks from DEF are supposedly really good, and they alone are worth about $25-30 USD.
