Has anyone tried AK real color paints yet?

Of course I would love to hear peoples opinion on the actual paint but the focus of this post is that I want to get an idea of how much paint I would need to basecoat an average model like a panther or king tiger. They are 10ml bottles and I am not sure how much they have to thinned down, etc ...I am just looking to get a rough estimate on how many bottles I would need to basecoat an average model with these paints. I don't understand why the paints are only so small at 10ml compared to the 23ml of Tamiya...

Tamiya's standard bottle has been 10ml for years, at least in the US. The 10ml sells so much better than the 23ml ever did, as someone who sells the stuff I glad they switched. Its a better price point.
As for the Real Color, it is very similar to Tamiya in how it thins and covers. If anything it is smoother and more durable. But it's very similar, so however much you'd use in Tamiya figure to use in AK.

All I buy is 23ml; I go through a lot of their paint doing basecoats on armor and aircraft.

Michael,
I just used the paint on this Tasca M4A3E2 Jumbo project I just finished up.
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/263834&page=1
I found that I used maybe 1/25th of the bottle for the base coats (I used three fairly thin coats to ensure complete coverage. I did use an airbrush which is much thriftier on paint than regular brush painting. To answer your question, I would imagine that you would be able to base coat 10-15 King Tigers before you ran out of paint in a 10ml bottle.
As far as my opinion on the paint, I found it to be superlative paint to airbrush with, smooth and tough. The matt colors dried to a dead flat finish and the cleanup was very easy. I only did the tool handles base coat with a brush so I can't really comment much if that is your weapon of choice.
Hope that helps. give me a holler if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
Rick

The only Real Color I've used in earnest so far has been SCC15 green over dark green plastic and it covered in one coat. But they were very close in color to begin with. It might cover better than Tamiya I just haven't really pushed any yet. most of the ones I have are fairly dark British colors. I've never needed more than one 10ml of anything to cover a 35th tank, though. Probably get two out of one at least. But I always use either black primer or a color very similar to my base color of the plastic isn't. That way I don't waste so much paint "covering the grey"

I'm going to give it a try. Sounds like it sprays and covers well.
I'm curious about their NATO Green.
