1/35 Panther Ausf.G Early/Late Versions w/Full Interior (Sd.kfz.171) Limited Edition
by Rye Field Model
quote from site-
The model masters at Rye Field are bringing another wonderfully detailed WWII German Armor kit to the masses! This time it is the Sd.Kfz. 171 Panther Ausf. G type! Just like their wonderful Tiger I kit, this Panther kit will come with a full interior as well!
According to the manufacturer this kit can:
Be built as early type or late type Suspension is movable
Optional rubber rim type wheels or 800mm steel type.
Includes marking options to build one of three types.
*Also as an included bonus for the initial release is clear upper body parts so that you can see that wonderful interior detail after the kit has been assembled. Available while supplies last. If your kit does not include these clear parts then it is not part of the initial release. These clear parts replace the solid color parts so there are no solid color upper hull pieces in the initial release.
*Package illustration figures and canvas covers are not included.
Also a 1/35 Sturmtiger w/interior

You could fill a 1/35 suitcase with the parts not included in Rye Field's "full interior" Tiger kits. They omitted most of the gear surrounding and connecting the engine. It's stretching the truth to call it "full".

You knowledge, in this matter is beyond question. However, I doubt we ever see a kit, with "full interior" that doesn't require further detailing. So, let us be happy with what we get and let the super detailers ply their skill.

"1)Holding all that can be contained; 2)Having no empty space: 3)Abundantly supplied or furnished."
Their usage fits the first three meanings of the word "full" according to most, if not all English dictionaries with no stretching.
You're only concerning yourself with "containing the whole matter: perfect" which is not the most frequently cited meaning nor the most common implication of the word.
Semantically the word use is correct and within established norms or English usage. Full can just mean "abundantly supplied with no empty space" without any implication that every little widget is included or any promise of completeness, just that every space has something in it.
So we can rant all we want but they're using the words right and not stretching anything. Even ancient Bandai kits could get away with "full" and all they had was a transmission, a gun breach and an engine.

If the word "full" is so ambiguous, then it's not useful as a description of the kit.

If they said ""the kit has an interior full of parts" then it might not have every piece. That's OK. The common use of full implies you get all the parts. If you don't plan on offering all the parts then just say Your kit comes with an interior and leave it at that.

it mentions that the muzzle cloth (box art) is not included in the kit....I wonder if there is really clear parts..hence the front angle plate? By the look of the parts picture...the lower hull could be all clear plastic?

I thinks it’s quiet obvious from the sprue shots, as well as from the boxart (‘Clear Turret & Upper Hull Parts’) that the lower hull (including the real plate) is made out of four (solid) styrene parts, while the upper hull and the whole turret are molded in clear plastic. The front glacis seems to be supplied in both options, probably a hint about RMF’s next Panther in the pipeline (w/o interior).

Psst-- my post was tongue in cheek. Word meanings being what they are, they usually are meaningless in advertising copy like this and should never be taken seriously or especially as a statement of absolute truth.
To paraphrase in Alice in wonderland: words can mean whatever I want them to. And they leave holes big enough to drive a Panther tank through which is why legal documents are so tediously long.
And language is fun.
And joyous tidings of the holiday.

Hilbert: clearly you don't like what I posted? If it's against the website rules, please show me the rule and I will apologise.
But be aware that I put many hours of work into researching the Tiger. I do my very best on it and I give you the results for free. I don't think it's fair of you to call my post "thrash".
Now, since you are talking about the tone of Armorama and not saying anything about the RFM Panther, I will refer you to the Site Talk forum.

I understand Hilbert very well.
David started this topic because he is very pleased with a new up to date Panther G from RFM and wanted to share this with us.
Then the negative posts came by about strange box-art and what the word full really means (OMG).
I don't say that you can not say anything about an new up-comming kit, but keep it constructive.
Untill someone has the actual kit, and details are not what they should be or not at all there, you can constructively post your comments and say what ever you like.
But taking over the topic and wanting to discuss what the word " Full " really means is so not done.
Ps, Sorry David.

So not done? If this was a truly civilized forum for proper intellectual discourse I'd be properly lauded for my clever wit and quick repartee but, alas, we are mired in the oh so correct and humorless present where no one can understand let alone comprehend true wit nor respect those among us who actually have a passing acquaintance with language as opposed to spouting nonsense merely showcasing ignorance and arrogance. Or just not caring.
Honestly, the kit looks like a good solid effort and frankly they used the word full properly and any one who says differently really needs to read a dictionary, a thesaurus and Fowler's English Usage.
Tee-hee. I so love poking you folks. Stop being so stuffy and proper, take a step back and realize words can truly mean anything someone wants them to. We don't have to like it or even like anything. Feel free to bash away. Threading one's wsy through all the bashing, someone somewhere might learn something.

I will be buying one or two, after I finish accurizing Star's Panther D. Six months, maybe. I like the looks of the interior and doubt most will not clue into the missing bits. A little wiring, here and there. Some magic spray sessions and a ton of weathering. I especially like the clear hull. It reminds me of AFV Club's T-34.

I think a discussion of what is missing on this kit to be complete is not unreasonable. And only someone who cares and is very knowledgeable would be able to answer that. They may get grumpy in the process but I think the information is worth looking past that and not getting into internet attack dog mode.
