Looking good Kalin.

Greetings to all intrepid modelers in this "Fun" campaign. Having been duly inspired by all the wonderful builds in this campaign, I've signed up as well. This is my entry. Sherman tank with mine roller by UM in 1/72 scale.

Early in the thread discussions, another modeler expressed interest in building this subject. I do not wish to usurp his choice if he still wants to build it. I can find another Funny to build. I await the decision of the Administrator and modeler concerned. Thanks.

Hello Bill, does the kit come with Rubberband tracks or link sections? I have been looking at this kit.

Colin, great job on your small Panzerjager with Big Gun. I bet that thing jumped a foot in the air when it fired. Hahaha.

Work begins on my diminutive Mine roller Sherman. The lower hull is flat packed and required assembly to shape.

The cast transmission piece required extensive coping out to fit the rest of the hull.

A filler strip of styrene was used to mate up the transmission piece to the hull.

Many of the parts are so small, as evidenced by the size of the shackles, so extra care is necessary in handling.

I am impressed by the level of detail in the kit. The boagie assemblies show the same level of detail as in larger kits.

The photo-etch skid plates are another nicely added detail.

Thanks for the good words! It was a pleasure for me to participate and to follow with interest the development of the campaign. I have two models that I started working on some time ago, but I have not finished them. I want to finish and present them within the campaign.
If this is not in contradiction with the campaign rules.

Kalin, you did a wonderful job building and painting this 50mm armed tank hunter. Necessity is the mother of invention....and this tank looks like it did it's job perfectly.

Kalin. I would be happy to see your additional models. You get the ribbon and the kudos for the first build, the others are just icing on the cake for us if they are funnies too.

Where I am at.
I had to remove part of the fenders, cut them away from the hull at the rear and then bend them upward to match the ones in the pic. Needed filling after that.
Fabricated the 'timber' platforms and trail stops. Trickier than they look as I had to laminate styrene sections
to get the right thickness and get the fit right.




Had some issues with the length of the 3.7's trail. Not sure if Tamiya or Dragon are to blame for the disparity. The position of the front wheels was very distinctive in the photo, however when placed on the vehicle to match, the trail legs hung over the back of the UE storage box.... so I had to shorten them a tad - don't tell anyone

By joining to this campaign we subscribed to problems.
It's no big deal Peter, I don't think anybody would notice trail shortening if you didn't mention it.

Peter, great job fabricating the timber supports for the PaK. Your tank hunter is taking shape. Keep up the good work.

I have finished my second entry. I started with Zvezda Sd.Kfz. 251 but after finding too many errors on the kit I decided to go for new Icm Sd.Kfz.251 ausf. "a" end convert it to "b" standard.

and added some aftermarket






I have two pictures of this vehicle and on both seams that there is two colours camo, presuming that it's "tropen" scheme.



So I painted accordingly.

And, finally, finished model

Bogi you are on fire for this campaign! Well done. Pete, nice work on the UE, I wouldn't have known you shortened the gun trail if you hadn't mentioned it.

Bogibg.. well done again! whats your 3rd build going to be?


Peter.. I do like how your supports turned out! I just have one favor. When you paint your wood supports. May you explain how you paint them and pics?? that's one area I need to take notes on.
