Hello guys,

I got into this V-100 from Hobby Boss a couple months ago, and it's almost done. I will go now for the Alpine Figure and terrain and base. I used Mission Models paint for the first time and will be on a review at Michigan Toy Soldier Blog soon.

When I get this one ready I will post some proper photos.

I was just thinking the same, i don't think i have ever seen one in as much dirt and grim as that one before but i do love the paint work on the kit....

did you have any problems with assembling it ?

David, the assembly was hassle free, just taking care of the hull joints, those took me some time to wipe it off. I added some scratchbuilt parts as the gun mantlet cover, hatch cushion, etc.

About the weathering, There are few photos of those really dirty, but my book reference from Osprey has a good one, of course B&W, but we can see it went into some bad places (Page 34). Google shows us a couple more, and I really like heavy weathering on AFV.

As a SP in the USAF Security Police, I was part of the security force at Da Nang AB in Viet Nam . I was mostly in a m113 but occasionally a v100, (not m706). Your apc is pretty dirty for military police lol. It was far more lax in V N then "the world" but not that lax lol . After a night patrolling the perimeter, it got dirty ,and we had to hose it down . .great job though .

Yes, there's a lot of artistic license on my model. But as you said, they could have been dirty for a little while, before next shift.

The one I mention in Osprey's book shows some heavy dirt on the wheels and lower hull.

Good job on it. To me, it is over-weathered as well. It looks rusty and abandoned, not dirty and in use. I find the current trend is to over-rust and over-weather armored vehicles. It's just not my cup of tea based on how I saw actual armored vehicles in use for 23+ years of active duty time in the Army. If you like it though, great.
