Am I correct in thinking that there are two different styles of turrets for the M10 and three different counter weights for those turrets?

Craig: That appears to be correct. The original turret had weighted rectangular slabs. Later, wedge shaped slabs became the normal production type. The final upgrade occurred with the so-called "duck bill" turret which also saw the rear bulkhead opened up to almost vertical.
So two turret types (original and later with almost vertical rear bulkhead) and three counterweights (slab, wedge, duckbill)

Fundamentally, yes.
The original turret shape came with no weights, grousers used as weights, rectangular blocks used as weights and the triangle weights.
The second turret shape used only the "duckbill" counterweights.

Thank you for the quick replies.
I was asking because I have both the Tamiya 1:48 M10 and M10C Achilles and considering swapping the turrets if I can make it work. Just to make each a bit different from the standard build. Realizing of course changes with stowage, etc..
