Hi guys,
this was the little Italeri 1/72 scale M-48?A2-A3 model. The kit is great and is a fun little build, I spent all of 12 hours working on this guy, not counting drying time.It is built OOB and was painted in MM dark green, followed by various yellow and green drybrushing, and then pasteled.
Enjoy the pics :-)
Some paint cans to show the size of this little guy!
and a little poofy guy too!
This lic shows the color of the green a little better.
Any comments are welcomed!

Yeah, the M/48 A3 came out after World War 2. I believe in 47 or 48 but the A3, if I am not mistaken was used in Vietnam because the M/60's were too heavy for the boggy soil in south east asia. Correct me if I am wrong. Oh and i just want to say, great model.

Nice job doing the red dust in Nam.
One area that need just a spot of putty is long the front seam of the hull top/bottom. Other than that looks like a nice solid build and a nice job weathering. The paint bottles are a nice indication of the size of this tiny tank
If possible can you shoot this in daylight or with the flash off? The flash changes the colors so much it's hard to get an idea of what the paint job actually looks like.

The M48 series came out in the 1950s, after the Korean War. Even the M47 missed Korean War service. The M48A2/A3 were used in Vietnam because the 90mm was deemed adequate for Southeast Asia. The 105mm armed M60/M60A1 was reserved for use in Europe since its gun was better defense against the horde of Soviet tanks that were poised to charge into Germay. It wasn't a weight issue.Yeah, the M/48 A3 came out after World War 2. Very nice kit Dave. I've got a couple myself that I've been meaning to put together.

Nice work on a tiny kit. You might want to fill in the gap on the front end where the top and lower hulls meet. Other then that, you cant go wrong for 1/72 !
Cheers !

Lordette FC,
This is looking very good, especially for such small scale, you start to really doing good with this modeling stuff. I wish I could do that well whilst I was like what? 13?
Good work!

Great job, that is a tiny tank. I really like the ace of spades detail on the search light. What does it say above it? Is it a decal or did you paint it?

What Nate said about the hull seam. There's also some attachment stuff left over there. This has to be the old ESCI kit. Great little models...semi ini tracks, right?
I'd leav off the barrel in the cuppola. The references I have show this was removed and replaced with the exterior Ma Deuce.

It says Main Dealers, and inside the spade there is a number 2, this is a decal and is included in the kit, and in fact is the subject of the kits box.Great job, that is a tiny tank. Yeah that seam annoyed me, probably not that hard of a fix, and yeah, the extra gun isn't a problem either, I just cut off where it attached to the cupola, and drill it.What Nate said about the hull seam.
