I know I have seen these sold as a number of beacons on small sprues, but I cannot remember who offered these . Anyone have any info on this? They are the warning lights German armor mounts and uses when on movement on public roads.Any info appreciated !!!

I'm fairly certain Accurate Armour offers them.
And if you're so inclined, there is circuitry available to make them actually simulate rotating, which you may find in the Walthers catalog.

I have the Accurate Armour beacons, and they are nice, but they seem a bit large for 1/35 scale to my eye. I haven't used them on any models yet.

Verlinden was called Flashlights and antenna mounts #187. Still have the remnants of a set somewhere. Definitely not worth tracking down.

One comes in the Italeri HEMTT kit and I suspect many out there go unused if you are not building a German prototype.

The Academy M113A2 comes with one on the clear sprue as well. Not sure if any of their other M113 variants may have the same sprue included?

Cheers,

They can be scratchbuilt.
Stick a piece of clear sprue in the chuck of a minidrill and file it down at low rpm (a Dremel is NOT the right tool, too much power and way TOO much rpm).
If there are air enclosures in the sprue these can be selected to resemble the lamp inside otherwise drill a small hole.
Polish the surface with a fine grit sandpaper and fix the rest with acrylic clear laquer or floor polish.
Similar for the base. Use metal rod for the pillar/"stick".

Note that designs differed between different types of vehicles ...

At first sight i thought that it's simply an LED painted clear orange. Maybe that's an option indeed? The lead frame in the LED kinda looks like the rotating mirror on the real thing...

Why not? If the size is right ...
No point in doing a difficult solution if there is an easy one

The image in my previous post is not my model. I picked it since it provided a good view of the Rundumleuchte. It might be a 1/16 scale model as well ...

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the input!! I found the beacons with Acc. Armor and tried three times to order them and a couple other things. All three times my Visa was refused . So, got them through M&M. And, yes, a couple other things.... I still need a few more goodies from Leopard Workshop I should have done with the first order. In the process, while waiting for some of this, to figure out the best way to glue the tracks that came with this MBT-70 kit. Nice tracks, great mold job, but, they made them in two pieces for each side. Haven't figured the thought process out on that as of yet. One glue spot would have been still one too many with flexible (rubber band style) tracks. Now I have two possible weak spots on either side to deal with. Considering epoxy as I don't think super glue may do the trick. Any of you have an idea when dealing with these?

Use ordinary liquid poly glue for plastic. Brush it on the mating faces of the track pads (avoid the end connectors and guide teeth) and clamp them together until dry. They will still flex, but the whole set-up is too fragile for "working" by rolling the tank around. I placed the joints along the top and bottom of the runs when I added them to the tank.

Do ya want the rotating beacons (aka convoy lights) like here?

I think the tall skinny ones are stobes that we’re part of the MILES type of stuff.

I got mine robbed from M113A2 kits.

We had both types; the short fat round ones that actually had a rotating set of lights inside and a solid state LED flashing one that was ultra bright and didn't actually rotate. They were similar in design to MILES kill lights, but distinctly different.

I thought the one mentioned above looked like an LED bulb. That is a good idea if you can find one that is the right size and color.
