Dragon continues its popular focus on Israeli vehicles in its 1/35 scale plastic kit range. This time it’s the Magach 5 as used by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Besides the mine roller, did Dragon ACTUALLY change anything on the base kit to warrant the Magach "5" moniker, like the correct engine deck configuration?

The Magach 5 is the same as a M48A5
We are talking about Dragon you know they will screw it up
I can only imagine how bad Dragon will screw up their long awaited M48 AVLB

It seams like just yesterday Dragon was king. As soon as they decided to go in a new direction, they gave up on accuracy. Too bad, I have a soft spot for IDF engineers. Dragon, please fund research into a BAZ?.

Any reviews concerning Dragon's offering? Does it worth dealing with it?

Nope it is not worth it. The mine roller even is the US one and has never been used by the IDF.Any reviews concerning Dragon's offering? Does it worth dealing with it?

I acquired one cheap for $28 and intend to part it out for two other projects.
1) While the mine roller is the incorrect type for an IDF tank, it is correct for an Abrams or M60A1 ODS USMC build. I'll be marrying up the roller to the Takom M60A1 kit. The roller push beam mounts will work on an M60A1. The rest of the mounting hardware is there and can be mounted with very little scratch building.
2) The entire lower A5 hull will be used on a Tamiya Sgt. York kit bash. That will require a fair bit of scratch building in the engine deck area.
Another option would be to build it as a plain M48A5 since it has all the bits in the kit for that as well.

You might want to try and find the Eduard pe set for making the engine deck. It will fit the Dragon kit with some dry fitting and a little modification of the parts.
