Not looking forward to building the treads though.

For me, tracks are least concern in this kit. Try using jig to build them. I have used balsa, spruce etc strips, for assembling any sort of plastic tracks. Try it, and you will enjoy assembling tracks as much as you enjoy the kit. It took me few minutes to assemble each run (of course minus cleanup! havent found shortcut for it yet)

Thanks buddy for the great tip. I built a template like this today and am merrily building runs of track. Mucho easier.

The treads are together and on board and painting is underway. In the meantime I thought this may be of interest. I went for a sun bleached look for the poncho.

I am not sure how much will be seen after the vehicle is in place but I made an attempt at showing the missing front fender brackets and wiring. I didn't add any nuts and bolts as I think they will be covered by dried mud anyway. I am getting too old to build stuff that won't be seen ! LoL

Ingrid is pleased with my progress.
I built the rear brackets to hold the canvas weather cover which has been removed and also the first aid box, which the kit didn't include. Added some lead strips and PE bits here and there as well.
Only the tiniest bits have not been added so my ham fingers will not break them off will I finish this thing.

It's coming along great! Really nice details throughout.
But I am shocked and insulted that you refer to this vehicle as a "Type 10"!!!!

Thanks buddy ! I am having fun building this little track and it has been a long time since I built any vehicle. Yeah,Type 10,I don't know why I bucked the system here with that one but hey,it was not meant in any kind of mean way or anything. I am glad you picked up on the irony though. Heheheh.
After all,I may be wrong but I think Sonderkraftfahzueg in German means "general purpose vehicle" so this track would be general purpose vehicle number 10. I think calling it a type 10 is not a gigantic stretch then,is it ? We are typing everything else here in English, are we not ?
Anyhow,I never meant to cause any controversy what-so-ever,
Thanks again,
J
