Excellent pictures Frenchy !!! I never knew that they shipped the trucks un-assembled and did some 1 to 1 modeling at the port.
Interesting bit of trivia ! Thanks for sharing !

Frenchy always has some great pictures and the ability to find some awesome resources and share them. I hope he's passing this ability to a Frenchy II.

Unfortunately, I have no children and my dog is not into Internet
As my 54th birthday was two days ago, I'm afraid you 'll have to bear with me for a few more years...

Happy belated Birthday Frenchy.
Guess you'll be around for at least another 50 years then.

Robin-- I have the solution for you-- battle damage. Ok, so the HB cabs ar no good for the detailed models you want-- but how about BD? Could even pose a couple in a bad collision, or maybe one being towed away by the Mirror Models 5 ton Diamond T wrecker!

On the BD theme, how about crashed over a temporary bridge or in a shell hole? Front part all but submerged will hide the nose issues and allow reasonable mods to the cab . Or have it crashed through a bridge with the front covered by timber debris?

Happy belated Birthday Frenchy.
Thanks Peter
Maybe something like this (even though the pictured truck is a AFKW not a CCKW...), using the HB cab...

I never cease to be amazed by the resources Frenchy can find and share on just about any topic.
A belated Happy Birthday also.

Maybe the HB cab flaws would be less noticeable if the truck is overturned ?
"
A GMC CCKW 2 1/2-ton 6x6 truck overturned in the difficult terrain approaching the Gothic Line in the area of Il Giogo Pass, Italy, fall 1944."
Looks like four legs are sometimes more useful than ten wheels
Another option :
Unlucky Dickie...

I saw an interesting photo in the topics list on this forum page titled "Waiting on a new train in 1/35th". About the second page there is a picture of a truck that was converted to use on the european rails.
