I noticed that M88A2 HERCULES got some new features added, like front LED lights plus small mountings.

Does anybody know if the tracks designation had changed because of this?

No, these are added as MWOs (Modification Work Orders), or small changes that get added as new parts are approved. It is still an M88A2, just with newer lights and a few other small changes.

The one in the photo is still using the old style track though-- didn't they get a track upgrade or am I dreaming? Interesting markings too-- 1st ID, but 299th Base Support Battalion? I think this is a "loaner" vehicle, but I've been "away" for 12 years-- I'm sure a lot has changed.

These are my guys from here at Ft Riley. The 299 BSB is here part of 2nd Brigade, 1 ID. They are their own vehicles shipped over there. Should be headed back home soon.

That 1 ID is that the Big Red One?

I know we always had a beef with them being 2 ID.
