Hey guys,
This is my rendition of the Andrea Miniatures German Stormtrooper - W.W. I - 1917, 90mm, White metal cast. It's a commission work.
I used AK interactive Acrylic Figure Set for the base uniform, and a mix of other brands for accessories and details, like Tamiya (Acrylic and Enamels), Polly S, Vallejo, Mission Models, Abteilung 502 Oils, and Model Master. Besides the tunic and base acrylic flesh tone (oils over acrylics), everything else is brush work.
Base is made out scratch with Greenstuff (along with the metal base that comes with the figure) and AK Terrain Texture. Vegetation are from The Scenic Factory. Wood Base by Andrea also.
Let me know your thoughts...
Best,
Julian

Julian,
Absolutely superb work. The uniform details and especially the hands make it look like a real person instead of a model figure. Congratulations on such a marvelous figure.

Your painting is stunning. I'm perplexed that Andrea did not add two specific details. He has no ammo. No belt pouches no bandoliers. He in effect is going into battle with only five rounds. The long trench shovel with its handle bobbing in the air was always strapped to the epaulette with a leather fob. I thought Andrea would not have made such errors. I truly love the shadowing of the uniform, not over done like many do. The hands look absolutely real.

Thank you buddy.
This piece is based on a actual war time photo, cover of Andrea Press Sturmtruppen Book, and in the book cover it does not show any of those items, despite being regular needed things for a standard soldier. The shovel in this figure is laying inside the gun, so it won't hang in the air, at least not for this pose / photo. The photo is also lacking any more magazines and such. It's a 80% accurate replica of that photo in time. The mask is also another model, in which Andrea did the "best" looking leather model. But thank you for the kind words on my painting. This was Out of the box, just drilled the gas mask can to propper depth.
