The truck itself is done for the most part. I plan to add a variety of cans, buckets, drums, etc. to the back cargo box. There will also be at least two figures from the ICM Soviet set. Despite some of the difficulties in assembly, I'm happy with the way it came out.

Howdy Mark,

I absolutely love it! It really came out superb. Now, I can't say that abou the two drums just in front of the truck. Don't know if it's the falsh photography or what, but they look like they're covered with blood!......weird.

You know Mark.......when you do work like this you're supposed to share your techniqies with us all.
Really good stuff Mark!
Now.....that you've finished your URAL, you've got to throw some of your talent at the "Incoming!!" Campaign.........right?
A nice Russian field piece, or a more challenging ARTILLERY 'variant'.........come on......you know you want to................please?

I would like to say that the finish it is very realistic. This is one truck that Animal wants. The faded paint and the dusty dirty look is done to perfection. And the tires...some of the best weathering I have seen. You should be very proud of this one. But.... The drums....If you were trying to get a used rusty look then I would suggest using the same color and technique that you used on the exhaust pipe. I like the chipped paint on the drums but I am not sure about the bright red color. But as I said before the truck is outstanding. Three cheers

#:-)

Actually, the drums look that way because I had just applied a filter of Burnt Sienna and White. There is a lot of it on there. As it dries/evaporates, it will look dusty like the truck bed. There is some rust colored chips, which really stand out because of the flash as well.

I did take some in progress shots and have every intention to do a write up on how I painted it.

Actually, I am kind of in the middle of working on a Soviet 76mm gun. Also getting ready to start painting my M1A1.

Well then Mark...I can honestly say your URAL is 'reference' material! And animal's input make's it a 'lock'!
Mighty glad you took 'in-progress' pics, please post them right away so we can all benefit from them. Your weathering 'balance' alone is worth the read!
And it's funny. The one thing I commented on last time you have completed and outdone yourself on....the tyre's! You obviously had it all under control, I don't know why I said anything at all!

But wait!!!!!!........I thought I heard something, about a "Soviet 76mm Gun"??
Pray tell.......could it be destined for the "Incoming!!" Campaign and you've just been leaving us all out of the 'loop'?

Well...just in case you don't know the way. Just click on my 'Link', and 'Voila!!....you're there! :-)

Beautiful job on the truck. Like to see later shots after the bloody barrels dry up.

Fantastic job on the truck Mark....I too would like to see some in progress shots of the build as well as any opinions and problems you had with the kit.
As I am building the BM-21GRAD version of that truck for the Incoming campaign here, and since the truck builds are the same, save for the bed on yours, and the rocket launchers on mine....the rest of the build would be the same!!!

I have a previous post in the rivet forum that lists some of the problems I had. Check out the review on the site here as well. I added some notes to it in regards to problems with the kit.
