Question about M3 and M2A2 ODS

I know there are minor internal differences between a M3 and a M2A2, but are there any changes or upgrades I would have to add to the Tamiya 1/35 M2A2 ODS to make it a M3? I am ordering the kit anyway but just wanted to know if maybe they actually made a M3 with upgrades for the kit instead of an actual ODS M2A2. Anyone get where I am going with this?

Check out this thread M3A2, Pavel just did a fine conversion of the model you are talking about into an M3A2 circa 1998.

The most important external difference between the M3A2 and M2A2 is the placement of periscopes on the rear of the hull. All perisopes present on the hull sides and behind the cargo hatch of M2 vehicles have been removed and instead completely different cargo hatch, with four periscopes installed in it was installed on M3. Also two firing ports on rear ramp were deleted.

Please take a look at these photos and compare them with Tamiya M2A2 model parts:
