After being out of the hobby for almost two years due to life and deployment, I have jumped back in with the AFV Club HAWK missile system. I am building this kit out-of-box and not really doing any super detailing. The goal is to just got a project finished.
For my build I selected the paint scheme/markings for a HAWK system that was set up in Key West, Florida in 1962. I like the way the multi-colored missiles provided some variety.

More to come.

Excellent work, Brent! I built the old Testor's History Makers HAWK kit back years ago. Might have to pick up the AFV Club kit. How is it to build?

Thanks for the comments guys. Richard the kit goes together really well. No fit issues but there are several tiny parts.

Today I put down decals for the first time in about two years. I got the decals on the trailer and launcher completed. The two assemblies received 14 decals. Shown in the photo are 3 of the 14 decals.

The missiles get 30 decals each. I got 7 decals on one missile done before calling it a day. Hopefully more will get done tomorrow.

Brent, that is very nice looking so far. I really like how you shaded it with your airbrush. Looks like a good clean build.

Highlighted panel lines with a mechanical pencil. I just wanted the panel lines to show lightly. Plain, painted missile at the top. Missile with highlighted panel lines at the bottom.

I hit the missiles/decals with a gloss clear. Will then go over them with a flat clear to finish them off. Working with a display concept while the gloss clear sets. I will be getting a brass dataplate made. The photo is from a 1962 newspaper article.

Very nice. Even better that it's an Army missile system. So much better than the Drangon kit too. You've done a great job with this one!
