Here's an M1A2 in green fellas. I haven't seen an A2 in this color before, but apparently it's not Olive Drab. Anyone got more pics?

Sure looks like that British dark green (Humbrol M30) from the picture!

All the road wheels look tan. I wonder if this is a tan tank over coated with the water based German NATO green? Ref this link..

Yes, it is one of the tanks on rotation to Germany for Operation Atlantic Resolve. Some have been repainted in overall green using a water-based German paint.
More info on the paint can be found
here.

Interesting that they all have a scheme of sorts, all with the same unpainted areas. Saving all these pics for my Academy M1A2 SEP V2

The above tank was from 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Infantry Division. It was painted w/WWII markings (big white stars, 1 AR patch, unit artwork, etc.) for the annual Strong Europe Tank Challenge at the Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany. It is a competition between European allies to enhance cooperation and interoperability.

Wow, this actually gets me interested in the M1 all of a sudden. What is the likelihood of these markings being released by an after market producer?

I just noticed that the Army tanks no longer have the .50 MG mounted over the main gun barrel. Has this mod been phased out or is it just used on vehicles deployed to a combat zone?
Seems like it would be a valuable piece of kit....

The .50 cal over the barrel is part of the TUSK options that is added for urban fighting. It can be added back if the situation warrants.

They are hand painted by brush, which is why they have the same "scheme" so to speak.

Decal sheet is included for these vehicles in Sabot Publications book on the M1A2 in Europe that was recently released.
