Good afternoon, Part of my long military career was as a Medic. We had the old “cracker box” ambulances. In looking for something different to build, I came across a kit: 1/72 Pz Kpfw I Ausf A Ambulance. I looked on the internet, however briefly, and nothing came up. In your experience, with your knowledge, did these exist? I read not long ago that some manufacturers “invent” vehicles - though often “reality-based.” What a concept! Truly - Thanks for your input! 1SGJFC

I 've seen this kit a few times so I would think yes.

Jim, in your scale (and more reasonably priced), Attack and S-Model both do kits of this. The S-Model one looks more easily available, and better still, there's two in the box.

Just try an ebay search on "Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf. A Ambulance"

Gentlemen, Thank you! It’s been awhile since I was on forum sites - I forgot how fast replies come in! I may have not asked my question correctly. Yes, I saw the ATTACK and S-MODEL kits on eBay. When I say I was on the ‘net searching, I meant searching for historic images, and again - nothing came up. I will spend a little time looking again. I was just fearing this vehicle was “invented” by a kit manufacturer. HA! 1SGJFC

Your question was clear, I think I was partly misled by Joe's response.
Whether it was an official variant that came off a factory line, I'm not so sure, but it appears that we can say that there was at least one (or maybe two) that might have been a field workshop creation. These examples actually don't look exactly like that in the S-Model kit, but seem to have a bigger structure at the front.

firstcircle- Thank you! After I saw your reply I quickly located a 1/35 scale kit. I appreciate the photos you’ve posted. Yes, it seems the 1/72 scale kits lack the “screen” configuration. But now that I have/know a keyword - “sanitat” - I can ask a German speaker pal help me to possibly locate other images.///Speaking of images... How do I insert an image into my profile photo? I’ve been noodling around on this site an cannot find an answer, BTW,do avatar and profile photo mean same thing? I’m a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to these things! 1SGJFC

Yes, at the top right of the screen click Settings, then Modify Profile. Then on the right there's three choices under My Photos, Avatar being the middle one and which sets the photo that's displayed on your forum posts. I think they have to be jpg files (or gif) and sized at 75x75 pixels if I remember correctly. The complication is that you then need to upload your profile pic into the Gallery, which will open if you click Upload Photo. You should see some instructions on the resulting gallery page, and should be logged in already.

If you choose the System Avatar option you can just pick one from the standard set available, you'll see them if you click Select an Image.
