just wondering what colours from the tamiya range i could use for the vietnam era USA
iniforms.

XF-62 Olive drab would be a good one

XF-65 mixed with some white makes a good base color for the uniform

thx for the advice lads i was thinking of using olive drab but ive looked at other models and it just doesnt seem right maybe this is because of all the mixing and shading i dont no but if anyone else has ideas i would be greatful also maybe a few links to pictures of vietnam model troops and what paint they used i remember a site dedicated to vietnam models but ive lost the link does anyone no it i cant remember the name.

Here's XF-65 mixed with white. I don't recall the color I used on the flak jacket.

Our Jungle fatigues were a green drab and because they were made of a rip stop rayon material they quickly faded to a light OD Green.

And they were usually soaked with sweat.....
so darken the right places.....
arm pits, small of back, around collars.....etc.
also slap on the ever present towel around the neck....
and rounds pointed outwards.........
unless you didn't want any flesh left on your neck!

glad I was Navy, but lugged enough gruts around to remember how
