Thanks for the posts and thanks to Herr Rubbel. This is especially topical for me, because I am currently mid-way through Takom's Konigstiger and am also reading Richard von Rosen's "Iron Cross Panzer Commander"; Herr Rubbel features in this book. Interesting what is said about the lack of paint, I've often wondered where kit manufacturers get their marking schemes from! You always hope that they are based on photographic records, but after listening to Herr Rubbel I'm not so sure!

Very enjoyable. Thanks for posting that.
As a completely irrelevant aside, I have that sweater! (Short sleeves and all! haha) Gonna feel like a Panzer Commander when I wear it now.... :-)

On a related note: the other day I was looking at camouflage schemes for a Jagdtiger (in kit instructions) and was glad to see that the diagrams included overhead views of the top of the vehicles, because we don't always get that.
Then it occurred to me that those diagrams almost certainly are the product of artistic license, as I highly doubt any specific Jagdtiger has a nice overhead view of the paint scheme.
Most vehicles aren't even photographed on both sides! We're usually lucky to get, more or less, a single side of a vehicle in a single photo. Of course there are some exceptions, but the point stands: kit instruction painting diagrams showing front, back, both sides, and top, almost certainly have to be fictional in places.
Sorry to get too far off base here.

I hope there is more material to upload in the future; I sure wouldn't mind hearing more from someone who actually used something the rest of us can only read about.
I thought the paint guide video was funny. He basically confirmed my belief that they are all made up. It's true: how do we get such great camo guides showing every side and the top when generally we are lucky to get one decent photo of a tank at all?

I have decided to stop working on this project. The other stuff will be kept under closure - it's simply not worth the efforts.
Why, what happened?

Thanks for sharing these videos, they are a great source of information.
It is a pity you are not going to continue. You may consider other options like:
- Do simpler editing so it is not too much work
- Release the raw, un-edited material
- Form a group of volunteers willing to edit the videos
