Is that the Trumpeter or the DML kit? I just started mine on Friday (the Trumpeter). Took three days, almost non-stop, to do one railroad car.

Its the DML one. I really liked it alot and went together easy. I have 2 ladders to do yet. I found puting together the ladders is big pain.

That's what you call messy????? Opps better go clean up my table...I know there is a table under all that plastic ..I can still see the table legs.. #:-) Nice job on the K-5 would be nice to see some up close pics...Hope you got lots of paint for this monster....lol

I sucessfully completed my DML K-5 a few months ago.
Yes,the ladders are the hardest part.I found I had to have mine in the retracted mode,to clear the ballast of the supplied roadbed sections.
