This is the Italeri Hummer with the TOW . I started on this one last year ( I think ? ) just never got around to posting it . Had to do a bit of work with the Dremel tool to cut the roof hatch open . The crew is a mix of DML and Tamiya figs. The stowage is a mix of DML ,Tamiya and Italeri . I replaced the Italeri TOW with the one from the DML Marine tank hunters set , just better looking to me . The tripod is also from that kit . I kind of guessed at the placement of the TOW rounds and I put the Dragon in there just for the heck of it .

Lord Toadster.

Another good looking little scene from the "Mississippi Sniper Dude".

The interior pic shows a lot of storage detail which is all well done. There is a lot going on in this scene for the eye to look at. Good concept and action with the existing fig, the observer, and the launcher--very good composition of the scene Toad. The little rise with the observer balances the whole thing. Well done sir!

Signed

not quite sure what tubing you mean (Hopefully not the TOW launch tube on top), but I have 2 guesses: the front fender, and the TOW reload rounds inside (as well as the Dragons (?)). Not sure though.

Great little scene Toad! Love the layout with just enough groundwrok to set the scene and no dead space. The figures look realistic with nice poses and fantastic camo. The Italeri hummer never looked better and the interior is first rate! Should there be a "riser" for the turret gunner to get up on. I have an Academy hummer and this is there! The only thing that seems strange is the length of the turret figure´s right arm. Has he orangatang syndrom?

Really great loking Humvee! Particularly impressive considering it is old Italeri kit. I have two suggestions. First is to either glue the roof to the windshield frame to hide the gap there (but I think you want to keep it removeable to be able to show the interior) or to add a thin strip of double sided adhesive tape on top of windshield frame - it should keep the roof attached to the windshield frame, but at the same time it should still be possible to remove the roof. The interior itself is not quite correct for TOW carrying Humvee - the gunner's platform is missing and TOW missiles rack is also not there, but you mentioned that you didn't know where to put it.

The second suggestion is to not call your model M1046, cause it isn't it. Your model is M1036. M1046 would have flat extra armored doors, as in Tamiya kit. But maybe it was just a typo?...

Cheers,
Pawel

If anyone is wondering the designations for the M996/MM1036 Tow Carrier (ie HMMWV w/ TOW) then it is as follows:

M996: distinguished by X-Panel doors, and no winch
M1036: distinguished by X-Panel doors, with winch
M1045: distinguished by supplimental armor kit (flat doors) and no winch
M1046: distinguished by supplimental armor kit (flat doors), with winch

Vodnik is right, this is an M1036. Also, in addition to the gunners platform, a pedestal is missing that is bolted to the floor that supports the TOW launcher. Why the Army did that when the launcher is firmly mounted to the vehicle, I don't know. Good model though.
