Could you point that part out to me?
Indeed a nice job. The flotation screen housing is the ox bow shaped portion just forward of the turret.
I've developed a pretty quick method of removing it.
1. Fill cavity with CA. Hit with accelerator.

2. With a barrel shaped steel cutter, remove collar as close to smooth as you can get.

3. Finish with wet/dry sandpaper glued to a small block.
4. It there are any divots from the grinding, fill with CA and sand again.
5. Add bolt detail and replace vent detail, if desired. HO dynamic brake housings make good donors for this.
Don't forget this detail, which is visible if turret is rotated: (you and I will be the only ones I've seen add this)

You don't absolutely
have to use the CA, but the plastic will be so thin it's easier to break through, making repairs a little more difficult.
By the way for all of the small details people miss, you can't go wrong with my Paladin walk around. More photos and more comprehensive than any reference available. Anywhere.
