Hello. I found this picture on: http://www.eisenbahnstiftung.de/bildergalerie/Reichsbahn%20im%20Krieg.
The 2 powerful tractors are Kaelble trucks.
I'm interested in the Tow.
I know its Russian, captured and was on display in Berlin as Beute.
Any one knows the type of this monster?
Would be a very interesting display...
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

Hahahahaha I had a look expecting to see a tube launched, optically tracked, wire guided atgm is a crazy rig... but no, all I saw was some trucks pulling some tank. That is to say, a KV 2 tank. Tanks for the laugh

Most american armor modelers, when they see the word "tow" think "TOW - Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided missile", not something being towed, like a disabled tank.

Me too, despite being European.
Spelling tow with a capital T contributed as well
Those trucks were usually used to tow trailers caarying railroad freight wagons to recipients who did not have rail connection. Instead of transferring to load to trucks at the station they loaded the whole wagon on a special trailer.

Resin kit, quality is not 100%, crappy pictures but you get the general idea.
They also moved locomotives this way

The German Bundesbahn continued with these methods into modern times
Ask Google about "strassenroller" and check the images

TOW (the weapons system) is usually written with three capitals, so no confusion as far as I am concerned..
One capital is still the word ”tow”, such as the original poster intended, at least in my book.

Hi Robin. Culemeyer rules, and Kaelble trucks of course.
Pictures show Kaelble Trucks at Henschel Factory in Kassel during WWII and a transport for the Reichsbahn.
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

I agree with Sven. If it ain't TOW then it's just tow.
As in hitch your wagon to your tractor and tow it!

Thanks for the nice pictures from my side too, R2(Robert and Robin)!
The mighty Kaelble Z6 Zugmaschine is on my To-Do-list, along with the FAUN ZR.
Both were fielded by Bulgarian Royal Army as heavy duty tractors during and after WWII.

Interesting to see all the safety measures along the Autobahn to prevent cars from hitting obstacles beside the road, the guide planks, wide open spaces and other constructional efforts to prevent vehicles from hitting people and installations near the road

Our surveillance platoon used to use the AN/TAS-4 TOW Missile sight, without the missile, for low light ops and they never used caps when filling out forms and reports. They also spelled TOW as toe. Not the brightest group of guys I ever worked with.

In addition to H.P. picture...
(1942) Foto: RVM

Culemeyer-Equipement of the Deutschen Reichsbahn deployed with a transport of equipment to be used in the Black Sea for war purposes.
The photo shows the transport near Dresden on its way to Ingolstadt at the Kindinger Mountain in the Altmühltal area. 1942
Think the equipment has something to do with Oil, not sure, but it's big.

Ship, destination The Black Sea
More to follow, have to sort out the interesting ones.
All is mapped as Culemeyer. Check the site, great pictures.
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

Since we are already far from th original question:
https://www.untermhaus.ozongenie.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5334&view=previous
Someone asks about ships transported from Germany to the Black Sea.
Some of the ships/vessels transported:
Unter anderem wurden die folgenden Schiffe transportiert:
6 U-Boote vom Typ II B (submarines)
23 Minenräumboote (motor minesweepers)
16 Schnellboote (torpedo boats)
26 U-Jäger (subchasers)
113 Küstenmotorschiffe (coastal freighters)
40 Tankleichter (barges for liquids, read oil/fuel/petrol
30 Schlepper (tugs)
2 Raddampfer (sidewheel ships, very useful in shallow rivers)
4 Bagger. (dredging equipment)

Really nice kit OOB. I only added Eduard screens as I disliked the plastic ones provided. I don’t recall any other issues with the build.
