Managed to get a bit of time today on the basic scenery. I want to try and make the groundwork look a tad overgrown, especially on the outside of the walls.
My aim is to try and make it look as if 'brambles', and other 'weeds', are taking over. I also want to try and achieve this effect without having to purchase any pre-made, and expensive, scale plants.
To that end I spent an hour outside trying to find some natural material to use. Luckily, where I live, I can do this without risk of meeting others, so doing my bit for 'Covid 19 social distancing' whilst getting some fresh air and exercise,

I built up the 'brambles' in layers using some moss and lots of diluted white glue, firstly letting each layer dry before adding another. The idea was to add bulk, but without it looking as if I'd just stuck a wad of moss on the base (see images below of my initial results).
At the time of taking the pics the glue was still wet, so it looks a tad 'frosty', but I'm hoping it'll be less obvious when dry.
Hopefully tomorrow, when it's dried properly, I'll give it another coat of diluted white glue and sprinkle some dried tea leaves over it to represent foliage, least that's the idea at the moment,
