For me the panel on the picture is pretty recent,look like stainless steel and also the red light seems not in line for a 100 year old tank

You may have a point here, even though the pictured part appears to match Meng kit part B37 (or maybe it's the other way around

for sure they have at least 2 gauges,temperature,Rpm and maybe the 6V gauge but i doubt,i have a load of picture and oter stuff about the FT-17 in my PC but i need little bit of time,today i dont have time i check tomorrow...

If you look closely, there seems to be signs of rust on that panel.

Yes but i have stainless steal with sign of rust after 10 year at home,can also be normal steal,for me what make me suspicious is the bare metal and the lights,SS steal was something pretty new at the time,to expensive for a instruments panel,and bare metal start to rust in no time,was painted black or white for sure...i am more on the black side

Incredible!...I have a lot of documentation on the FT-17 and I also tried a bit of video but it seems to take a picture or video and show the instrument panel is punishable by death!....

we have to think the FT-17 and hes many incarnation and versions are first the first "real" tank and second between the end of the war and the late 30's was the "sherman" of that era,everyone have one or copy of that in service or at least to test like Switzerland,some country use them until the late 40's...was the toy every cool kids in town wants!...
From Wiki 28 nation have at least 1 and for that time was a huge number

This photo is from the FT-17 / M1917 WWI Tanks Walk Around by David Doyle. Published by Squadron Signal. The description is as follows.
An M1917 instrument panel is shown removed from the vehicle. A speedometer is at the top. The two bottom gauges are odometers. The top gauge giving distance in Kilometers and the lower one in meters. To the left is the oil gauge and to the right is the magneto switch. At the top of the magneto switch is the manufacturers name Eisemann.

I wonder if the original WW I FTs indeed had a panel . . . ? I have just gone through the entirety of "Manuel Pratique du Char Renault" and there is not a single mention of any instruments. Could the panels pictured possible be post-war additions? But I would have expected at least a water temp gauge.
Interestingly, in the photo above "Eisemann" is a German company that did not have a French subsidiary until 1996. And in French "oil" is "huile" or "petrole" . . . not "oil". And I doubt a speedometer would be necessary on an FT with a top speed of less than 8 km/hr. Just wondering.

I have exactly the same doubts,look like a American “after market “ ,is written in English and in a tank like that at that time I can understand the temperature,the rpm and the gasoline level but for that I imagine they don’t put a gauge but a glass tube were you can see the level

You can download the "Notice Descriptive Du Char d Assaut Renault 18 HP" (= "technical manual") here. It includes several drawings but there's no instrument panel. None is mentionned in the text either...
