1/35 rail crane. Not finished but close. The figure is just there for scale. The forward drum moves the boom left and right, the middle drum moves the bucket up and down and the rear drum moves the boom up and down. Boiler is coal driven. The pics were having trouble loading. Scratch built or kit?

The car base is a 6 axle rail car kit by sabre I believe. The rest is scratch built or bashed from bits from other kits. The crane, railcar floor, roof,etc. are scratch built wood based on a drawing I came across. It is to be part of a Dora railgun diorama. The forward drum moves the boom left and right, the middle moves the bucket up and down and the rear drum moves the drum up and down. Small gauge chain opens and closes the bucket

Thank you, sir. I have actually added a lot to it over the past couple years but just never got around to posting pics. I need to get around to posting sometime. By the way, this a coal fired boiler. They could be wood or oil fired also. The brown tank holds the water which goes into the yellow simplex water pump which then goes into the boiler. The water is heated and the steam builds up in the dome which then goes through the pipes to the steam cases which runs the engine with the drums. I wanted to do something that some engineers which the railgun had a plethora of, could cobble together themselves.

Hello rog I found this site but I cannot see your pictures. The others who posted pictures show up but for some reason yours do not.

Still no photos.

I am wondering if only those who are participants in Google or g-mail can see them.

Myself I have as little to do with Google as possible, other than as a search engine. This is ever since I downloaded an app from Google Play and received a very compromising series of never ending ads that slowed down my phone's operation and was always jumping up in front of anything productive I tried to do. Had to go back to the phone center and have the phone wiped and reinstalled to get rid of it.

I am logged in to my Gmail account right now but I still can't see the pictures. Maybe there is another level of being logged in to Google?

Another storage option for images is imgur (there are some others as well). I use imgur without any problems.
Uploading of photos can be done with drag-n-drop. When the photo is uploaded there are a number of Copy-buttons on the left side.
One of these is for BB-code. Click the Copy-button for BB and then paste directly into the Armorama post.

I bet you're right. You probably have to be signed into some special google account to see them. Tricky little buzzards! I will see if I can come up with some other way to post them. You're right, Mike. I based the crane on logging rigs. It is a conglomeration of a Surrey-Parker and a stiff legged derrick. I think that the number of rail engineers and mechanical engineers the Dora had available could have done something like this with no problem at all. Not implying that they actually did it, just that they were fully capable of it. I'll come up with another way to post the pics.

Well at least I got to see them yesterday and enjoyed seeing
