Didn't know Armorama was featuring sci-fi now.

I don't see a more appropriate Kitmaker site for sci-fi. I don't find this any worse than the Panzer '46 stuff - it's well within the possibilities for a future vehicle using technology available today. Once they start putting anti-grav and particle cannons on it, then it becomes (for the moment) science fiction in my eyes. The model itself is cute; like those French Panhard SUV's or the Japanese SUV Tamiya makes.

Looks kinda like a VW Beetle and VW Thing melded together and shrunk down to fit an ATV chassis and given some sex appeal.
Cheers

I don't see the point of them either. Just more sci-fi junk in my opinion.

I just don't see the draw when there are plenty of actual vehicles that have never been kitted. Why produce fake stuff?

To each their own.

Agree, and the vehicle looks like an SF Smart roadster, a bit ridiculous in my mind.

New conversions, new figures would be more interesting.

I agree as well. Although I like sci-fi stuff and this particular vehicle has a certain appeal, I prefer Legend doing what the company is best in... upgrade sets and conversions for real vehicles.

Ya, geez, we don't have enough Panzers, Shermans, Abrams, 109's, Tigers, Panthers, yadda, yadda, yadda. LIVE a little guys, try something "different" for a change...can't hurt, and hey, you might like it as a break from stale 'ol WWII German junk...LOL...!!

Hey Heavy what about an airplane that can take off and land like a Helicopter. Or a telephone that can double as a computer. Science fiction is no different than looking out of the box.

Everyone on Armorama is entitled to an opinion on the content, but the staff make the decision as to what happens with Jim S as a final decider.

I think this is a good thing. Looking long term Legend could make jeeps, M-ATVs etc. from what they learned from this project but hey that's just me.

Interesting approach into sci-fi world. Reminds me of the vehicles used by the colonists in Terra Nova TV show.

As regards vehicles never kitted, there's probably a reason for it: not enough interest by paying buyers. This is eye catching and similar to videogame vehicles. Videogames are a much bigger industry than models, and any opportunity to get videogame players interested in the types of vehicles they see in their games is to be welcomed, IMHO. And maybe just maybe if some kid likes this model because it looks like a HALO Warthog and looks into the weapons that can be added and then sees the Humvees and other real-world hardware... maybe we get another new modeler who can help convince the plastic squeezers to make more new models that we can in turn jump on like mice on crack to support our habits.

I wonder if a videogamer is willing to pay for this and able to build a resin kit?

Isn`t this truck to luxurious for a military ATV? Maybe they can go with Masterbox "Mad Max" series?

After all these years in the hobby, it is safe to say that sculptors basically make what they want so perhaps this was a change of pace and the sculptor wanted to do this?

Being a modern Sci-Fi model fan, I'm all for it because this is groundbreaking in the 1/35 Sci-Fi model kit department. Most 1/35 Sci-Fi vehicle kits are "bricks" as one piece or hull; they aren't kits that one has to assemble.

The other option are the Wargaming vehicles, usually solid piece cast "bricks" that lack parts and details.

Give it a try and see how it all turns out. It does appear to fit well.
