Legend Productions released a full resin kit of Thraex Light Armored Assault Vehicle in 1/35 scale.
LF3D078 - “Thraex” Light Armored Assault Vehicle

- 1/35 Scale
- 3D Designed/Sculpted
- 68 Resin/ 15 PE Parts
- Turret and Accessory are not included

I believe the concept and 3D design for the vehicle come from Peter Samofalov.

The Legend Productions starts with a new project called
"Warring Earth". We are pushing the limits of the ordinary
and creating new worlds where all modellers can unlock
their creative potential to the fullest, here is a world
where historical authenticity no longer suppresses
creative freedom, and each modeller independently
decides what is right and beautiful.

The "Warring Earth" is the world of the future, when
portals to other worlds of the Multiverse will be opened,
this is the world of new technologies, new discoveries and
new achievements. Amazing World, where fantasy
becomes to reality.

The first project of the new series -  All Terrain Vehicle
ATV "Thraex". This is a assault vehicle created with the
use of high-tech industrial 3D printing. Characteristics -
lightweight extra-strong composite armor and active
antiballistic/plasmic protection, noiseless electric motors
and hydrogen power generator, robotic suspension and
smart tires with active protector, fire/explosive protection
of the passenger compartment and armored seats with
active protection for the crew, system of sensors and
radar controlled by Artificial Intelligence.

ATV is compatible with any modern weapon turrets that
are in the range of Legend Productions, as well as in the
near future will be implemented additional sets of turrets
with plasmic and laser weapons. To complete the cargo
compartment can be used any stowage sets from the
range of Legend Productions.

In the future, it is planned to release new modifications of
the ATV as well as a wide range of additional sets of
equipment and weapons, and crews - for "Warring Earth"
project.

Everyone on Armorama is entitled to an opinion on the content, but the staff make the decision as to what happens with Jim S as a final decider.

I think this is a good thing. Looking long term Legend could make jeeps, M-ATVs etc. from what they learned from this project but hey that's just me.

Interesting approach into sci-fi world. Reminds me of the vehicles used by the colonists in Terra Nova TV show.

As regards vehicles never kitted, there's probably a reason for it: not enough interest by paying buyers. This is eye catching and similar to videogame vehicles. Videogames are a much bigger industry than models, and any opportunity to get videogame players interested in the types of vehicles they see in their games is to be welcomed, IMHO. And maybe just maybe if some kid likes this model because it looks like a HALO Warthog and looks into the weapons that can be added and then sees the Humvees and other real-world hardware... maybe we get another new modeler who can help convince the plastic squeezers to make more new models that we can in turn jump on like mice on crack to support our habits.

I wonder if a videogamer is willing to pay for this and able to build a resin kit?

Isn`t this truck to luxurious for a military ATV? Maybe they can go with Masterbox "Mad Max" series?

After all these years in the hobby, it is safe to say that sculptors basically make what they want so perhaps this was a change of pace and the sculptor wanted to do this? Being a modern Sci-Fi model fan, I'm all for it because this is groundbreaking in the 1/35 Sci-Fi model kit department. Most 1/35 Sci-Fi vehicle kits are "bricks" as one piece or hull; they aren't kits that one has to assemble. The other option are the Wargaming vehicles, usually solid piece cast "bricks" that lack parts and details. Give it a try and see how it all turns out. It does appear to fit well.
