I am a big fan of Andy Moore's builds. He imparts a lot of great techniques. His African T-55 AMV build was the inspiration for the one I built. Always great to see his posts!

Yup, I can almost tell even from the pictures alone that it is one of his builds. Then, when you read the texts you discover how much more information he is providing. He is a top class modeler to me. So glad he is very unselfish in sharing his skills.

Probably one of THE best and above all realistic (not 'artistic') AFV builds I have ever seen and the tarp idea is quite ingenious in both its simplicity and the end effect.

Been using that method for years. Better effect if PVA is painted onto fine wet or dry abrasive paper. Build up a couple of layers and make sure the outside, that is the shiny side is hidden. You can combine two layers back to back if hiding the smooth shiny surface is not possible. Careful when fixing though and don't use water soluble adhesive which could soften the sheet. I use superglue or Evo Stik contact adhesive.

Are you coating it onto the sandpaper for texture ?

Tarps and stowage have always been my weakest area; but that technique looks simple enough where even I won't screw it up...much!

Umm, no, no it isn't. In this method the polymer is the tarp, with nothing else. In the previous article you cite, tissue is used for the tarp but it is strengthened by adding a polymer. The polymers aren't even the same.

he used to be very active on britmodeller but not so much now, I know there was a bit of drama over there a year or so ago and I think a lot of people left or reduced their input there greatly.

I did like his bandai builds, he really did think outside the box when it came to those kits
