Thought I would post us one of my recent completed builds after a long hiatus from scale modelling. As I am working from home at the moment I have a lot of time to get some models from the stash out and finally built.

So this is the Revell Sd.Kfz.10/5 & Flak38 released back in 2006. The build is straight from the box and painted up to represent a vehicle that was originally painted in Panzer Grey before heading to Africa & getting a repaint in German desert brown. I wanted this one to really look like an old workhorse that has recently fought and has been left abandoned

All paints used are SMS and decals used were supplied with the kit. Weathering was an SMS wash mix and AK pigments.

Happy with the turnout and impressed with the detail of the kit, it went together surprisingly well I thought. Here are a couple of pics of the completed build.

Well done! The chipping in particular looks very natural and realistic.

Very Very nice... It might inspire me to get out the sd.kfz.7 and flak 36/37 and do it in DAK...

The chipping looks fantastic. It is something I struggle with (too much vs too little). Is that Hairspray Method or Paint?

Thanks for the comments guys, very much appreciated.

Glenn, the chipping was done using a masking solution that was put on with a a small bit of foam. I like to coat the vehicle in a steel colour first, then mask off the chips. After that I paint the camo as normal, if multi coloured I can as more mask prior to the next colour. Once finished I rub it all away with a small, stiff brush. Hope that helps

Jason this is just brilliant, drape some rags & abandoned kit on/around it & stick it on a sand base & I’d swear it was real. As we’re in Constructive Crit mode, just a teeny mark off for the track on both sides under the drive wheel not quite hanging right– but buried under some sand, problem solved. Simply superb, more please

Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate the comment Tim. I didnt even notice the tracks till you pointed that out & I might have to look at the base and accessories now you mention it. I got a PAK 40 done the other day again in DAK livery, might have to post that one up as well
