Greetings. There has been frequent and in-depth questions, study, and debate about interior colors of the German tanks, but I don't recall seeing or reading anything about the 38t family of tanks. The German tanks (at least according to the debates, were primer red in engine areas, as well as the lower areas of the crew areas, and then a light cream color (buff) in the upper crew areas. Was this similar for the 38t, for example the tank itself? I suspect that 38t variants(such as Marder III H or M, and the Grille variants) were painted the same as the exterior in the exposed crew area, but what colors inside, where the engine, transmission, and driver was located. Anybody have any ideas or photos to share?

You have actually answered your own question in large part, by outlining tank interior schemes used on OTHER German tanks!

Save for the very few CKD LT Vz 38 tanks seized from the CKD factory floor in 1938 (eventually to be designated as being the Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf A by the German Army), ALL Pz. 38(t) were actually built on order of the Wehrmacht for acceptance by the German Army. And the interior (and exterior) paint-schemes followed those specified by painting regulations for all German tank manufacturers. Essentially, the Pz. 38(t) was a German tank (with very limited use by Romania and Slovakia) built by the Czech CKD (later BMM) firm to meet in detail German specifications.

So; Crew spaces were "elfinbein", with dark green floors, trannies and such in that space either satin black (industrial standard enamel) or maybe dark green, radio sets in German factory enamel green or a field grey, engine compartments in red oxide primer. Pretty much what was done in all earlier-war German tanks.
