I want to build a SF/CIA Hummve used in Iraq.
Have some pictures of these vehicles showing rear storage areas and storage bins fixed to side rails. These vehicles have the four door access some with doors removed. Tarpulin covers over windshield and side windows. Usually heavily armed with MG's some with additional armaments fixed on side supports.
I need good photos or details of the rear of these vehicles showing the inside and side rail detail.
Can anyone out there who served with SF and used one of these vehicles please give me some info.Got a model show in Belfast in May would love to have this project ready for show. Need Info soon Help!!!!!!
Many Thanks

Well Cookie, I hope that these are not pics you have, simply because I don't want to waste your time but here are the few that I found:

Not sure about this next one but it looked like a Humvee:

Here are some other photos that I also found that might come in handy:

Cookie, I saw a lot of and worked on a lot these vehicles and very rarely were any two exactly alike. The single most interesting thing about the vehicles that I saw were the tires they were using. They were using 39" TSL Thornbirds, and Super Swamper mud tires. Very aggressive tread pattern on these and I dont think you will find any in the 1/35 world. The majority of them had a SATCOM dish placed behild the driver, rear facing seats in the bed area of the truck, running boards on both sides and the rear. Grab rails along the top of the roof line for hand holds, extended front bumpers (expandable to increase the width of the vehicle for crowd control while driving, kinda like a cattle catcher on a train) and as you already stated, MG mounts on the rear corners. They reminded me of what the Israelis do with their vehicles......tweak and twist and make them work for the individual crew. You could pretty much have free reign with your build and not be wrong. Like I said earlier, of the 20+ vehicles that we worked on, their werent two that were identical. I wasnt able to get any pictures of them as they were kinda sensitive about those things. Go figure. I've also noticed on many SF HMMWVs that they have smoke dischargers on the main MG mount or on the sides up front. The MG mount dischargers look kinda like Stryker mount, but I haven't looked very closely.

Thanks for your information. do you know if the rear section between the cab and the rear storage area was open or did it have a panel.
Like you said these vehicles where all different like our SAS british Landrovers, if should make it eaiser to model i know your guys are taking some serious losses and lots of shots of damaged Hummve on our news programes Is this vehicle to lightly armoured for the role its having to preform.
