I'm with you Robin. I think building this stand would impact on my (snail-like) modelling schedule too much!

Good idea, but why build a "kit" to display another built kit? Too many pieces for a simple stand. Should be no more than 6 pieces. The 6 pieces should be able to "click" into each other and reinforced with glue and that's it.

I agree that it does look a bit complicated. What are all those circle parts for? I don't get it.

Personally I consider this a form of origami and can't begin to think of just why I'd need one. I build models and I am somehow suddenly so inept that I can't build a stand (which I'm still trying to figure out just WHY I'd even need one). Maybe there's a need/use for these but not for me.

Nah, I have my Tamiya stand I bought with a 40%-off coupon. I'm good.

Just don't/can't see the point in "elevating" a Tiger I (as shown), or any other AFV and thinking it offers a better way to display your finished build.

You can use it for construction as a third hand so the model is not moving around on you. I think most of these are to help with the painting and weathering, to give you that third hand, to keep the model stationary and hands free.

Correct, this is not for displaying the finished model but to hold it while building or, specially, painting.
At least for me, having a solid attachment is a plus, because more often than not I break something or leave a fingerprint on fresh paint...

Maybe if I had better eyesight but I prefer to be able to move whatever I work on to a comfortable position which fits my eyes, hands, the work light, tools and my back so I would need to hold it up anyway so this doesn't give me (others may have other views) any third hand, it just gives me extra weight to lift with my second hand. Apart from drilling holes.
If the kit has interior it will be difficult to get rid of those fastening nuts afterwards, with an empty inside I could shake them out through the turret hole after somehow unscrewing them (work for a gynecologist). When working on the suspension I will sometimes have the lower chassis upside down to get access/view of the parts. Having a big boxy thing attached to the bottom of the chassis doesn't help the least. Sorry, but I can't see any reasonable use for these contraptions.

It you reverse the bolt and nut, you can have it place for attached to a base if that is how you model regardless if you have an interior or not. When you hold the model to look at it during construction/painting/weathering you grab this base and not the kit. I understand what you mean but different strokes for different folks. I can see some advantages and wouldn’t mind trying it except the cost is higher then I am willing to spend to try it out, YMMV.

I know it is not for display purposes, and is instead to act as a third hand. Still not interested as what it does is very little improvement on my Tamiya stand. I do not need to secure my builds to anything and at any rate I build more than armor and these stands don't look useful for aircraft, cars, boats, etc. Not interested in buying a stand for every genre of kit it that is what it comes down to.

I agree with Robin on the impracticality of kits with interiors.
