Coming soonish from Dragon, as seen here http://moxingfans.com/m/view.php?aid=7675. I didn’t know such a variation existed, but apparently it does.

Looks to be a pretty simple DIY conversion (as long as you have a 250/1, and an extra Pz l turret). From the Dragon CAD it looks like the roof hatch is partially covered when the turret is at 12:00; or is the forward edge (of the hatch) curved to conform to the shape of the turret rear.

As the link shows, it is a 253. The Dragon poster clearly shows a 253 roof with the square/rectangular hatch at the rear. This would have been a relatively simple field conversion with a 253, since it already has a roof and there is a hole in the roof with a rotating observation hatch. We don't have any idea if the Pz1 turret was fixed or could rotate (the only picture I am aware of shows it facing straight ahead), but if it was fixed it would be a simple matter of removing the hatch and welding the turret on.
Since the picture shows the turret offset to the left, I don't think there is any doubt that it is a 253. No reason to offset it if you are using a 250 and having to add a roof plate with a hole in it.

A very nice spare Pz I turret is included in the Tristar/Hobby Boss Flakpanzer IA kit.
I know because I just used it on an oddball conversion of an Sdkfz 254 that I saw in some pictures

I have the same question. When did this puppy come into play? Is it a one off??

You can also get a really complete Pz.1 turret from the Tristar / HobbyBoss "Munitionsschlepper 1A" kit - which is the complete Tristar Pz. 1A early / late kit with full interior, with added parts to make up the turretless muni-schlepper.

Is there any evidence the Pz l turret was mounted on a 250 Neue series, or just on the Alte? I have one of each bodies as donors as well as a redundant Tristar turret.
