Sorry to hear your tale of woe! If the shop can't help, try contacting the folks at Iwata directly. I'm not sure how they can get the threaded stump out, but if it all goes south I can thoroughly recommend the Badger Renegade Krome as a replacement. Its nozzle is tiny and easily escapes during cleaning, but it's just a loose press-fit with no threads...


Thanks for the advice. Looks like I may have to just buy a new one.


Before sending it out or replacing the AB...
can you post a photo of the stuck nozzle remnants? There may be a fix depending on your photo.

I'd soak it in Kroil or similar penetrating oil before trying to remove the fragment.

Vallejo productsalos do better being mechanically shaken.
I have a clamp set up in a battery drill and try to do a slow mixxing for at least 2 minutes before use. Since i have started this, my clogging problems have been reduced.

All paints flow better when mechanically shaken. Agitators are a BIG plus. Love my Robart shaker.

I was able to get the bottom of the nozzle out of the housing with a toothpick.

I'm going to buy another nozzle at my local hobby shop next week.

Watch the video first. It looks like it's just what you need. Looks pretty easy to fix.

Excellent, I’m glad the toothpick worked, one of the most versatile tools in our arsenal. I’ve just been using one, slightly sanded on the end, to burnish down the edges of masking tape. The only thing I wouldn’t use one for is picking your teeth, bleeding gums!

That's good news! I hate to see expensive tools relegated to scrap. I looked for online reviews of your AB and they do mention the risk of over-tightening the nozzle. Now you've got the nozzle off you might as well soak it in cleaners to get the gunk out while you wait for the hobby shop to open!
