John Deere, Massey Ferguson, what are you talking about? You put up random posts and never get specific. Artillery tractors, farm tractors crawler tractors?

Is there any way people could stay civil on this site without automatically going for the throat. It's a modeling site for goodness sake. If you don't like the post simply disregard...wash, rinse, repeat.

There are simply some people who should not be on this forum. We've had some before who got laughed out of here.

THE SURPRISE is not that Heller features a piece of farm machinery - Ertl has been specialising in such for years - but that this French company has released an archetypal British tractor.
Mat Irvine: The story of the Ferguson TE20/FF30 ‘Little Grey Fergie’ is a cosmopolitan tale. It was designed and built in Britain by an Irishman, using local manufacturers around the world to make their own versions, including France. So the Heller connection is understandable.

Not sure what you are specifically looking for Tom but here are a few older kits that are out there in 1/35.

And a modern non-military.

Hope that helps some.

The OP was rather vague, and I guess most of us are not telepaths...Anyway if we're talking about farm tractors, SKP, Plusmodel, Balaton, MK35 have released resin tractor kits in 1/35th scale.

There is also TBmodels:

He has been busy lately so I don't know how much time he can spend on this hobby-venture.
That Airfix tractor is a re-box of the tractor from Thunder Models (new decals though ...)

Ditto, and it's not "going for the throat" to note that.

Ah Kurt, my old nemesis. Always there to prove me wrong. There are civil ways to make a point and ignorant ways to do so. I am just asking people to be nice to each other. Again...just for you....this is just my opinion. Have a nice day.

What piqued my interest was a story I read years ago about how American engineers were able to use an ancient tractor found on a recently captured Japanese-held island to build an airfield because they couldn't receive American engineering equipment which was too far away.
Also I was reminded of a more recent story by Guenther Grass when he finally told the truth about his having served in the Waffen-SS which he previously concealed. Hem mentioned how a farmer used cown to plow his field. Wonder if Germany had tractors and were unable to use them due to lack of fuel.

Hi Tom.......perhaps the article speaking of American use of captured equipment in the Pacific was speaking of the Komatsu G40 bulldozer. In the early days of the Guadalcanal campaign use would have been made of any Japanese equipment that the Marines found useful. This was due to the U.S. Navy transports rapidly departing with much of their cargoes still onboard after the Japanese victory in the Battle of Savo Island 9 August 1942. I believe there may have been an article on Armorama or Missing-Lynx several years ago concerning the G40. Good Luck!

Balaton Modell has a nice range of civilian (mostly Russian and Hungarian) tractors in resin, both 1/72 and 1/35:

The other tractor story I forgot to mention:
I read the story about the North Korean capture of the U. S. S. Pueblo spy ship, and it mentioned that to entertain the captured crew, their North Korean captors would show them their propaganda films. Often they consisted of young men falling in love with agricultural machines. When the Koreans asked the prisoners what they wanted to see again, one suggested that the really wanted to see the one about "the lovable little red tractor", and the Koreans were evidently not noticing the other prisoners were laughing at them.

Sounds like a great inspiration to make a model of a tractor. Are you going to make a diorama?
