Fig sizes with different companies

A quick study in the sizes of figs.
From left to right
Rado,Tamiya-Dragon-MasterBox-Gecko-Ultracast-Bronco
You can quickly see the different companies guys put together are close enough to use together,just make sure the gear is all the same and it works. Just like real life we are not all made equally!

I always "figured" that Dragon had more larger figures, whereas Tamiya's were smaller and Masterbox beefier?

I have also found the sizes can differ from set to set within the same company. Some boxed sets are larger,etc.

Hmmm...you've included a couple of figs that aren't standing at full height which influences the result. The Dragon figure has slightly bent knees, which otherwise would make him a little taller (and I've noticed that even within the same Dragon figure set heights could vary). And the Masterbox figure is bending at the waist with his head further bent, which, if he was standing straight, would actually make him taller than the Riich figure next to him. You should have included a MiniArt figure (if you have any!) in the line-up as many modelers claim they are taller than other brands.

Yeah well. I had to use the figs that I had that were the closest to standing up straight. But you can still imagine them that way fairly easily I think. I have no Miniart Brit. figs that are standing up either.

It loos like you can mix any of these companies figs together without worry. Humans come in all separate sizes after all.
Now when we get into a lot of resin figs,it's a whole 'nother ball game.

I've seen that Tamiya's WWl British infantry are much more petit than comparable ICM British WWl infantry. The equipment, especially rifles, are the same size. It's just that Tamiya's figures look a little malnourished beside ICM's (guess they've been too long in the trenches living on the odd rat, and boiling old boots for soup!

It would be easier to change a posture of a figure if body parts were really interchangeable.
A little challenging to update a figure with new position of arms or legs.

Audie Murphy. 5'5" Some great soldiers came in small packages. Not everyone is John Wayne and over 6' tall.
I recently purposely put a tiny undersized figure (scales out at 5'4) next to a figure that scaled out at 5'10" to show how mixed up the German forces were in 1945. The tall guy is SS and the short one is a Kriegsmarine replacement.

Another line-up of the usual suspects:
Left to Right: MiniArt (with Hornet head); Tamiya (Brit Para from Welbike set); Bronco; ICM; Dragon. In this line-up Tamiya is the tallest, and Dragon is the smallest. The Tamiya figure is almost 1/32, while all the rest are reasonably sized.

. I agree. I am 6'3" and a buddy that I worked with was 5'3". It really became an issue at times because we were C-130 engine mechanics. It got difficult trying to adjust the stand so we could work together at a comfy height 9 feet off the ground.

Like saying it looks "odd" to have different sized figures together-- well if this was Twitter you'd be so cancelled, banned, get all kinds of flaming hate messages about size-ism.
So far this hobby doesn't debate inclusion and diversity.
Maybe the figure makers are trying to tell us something.
