Well I intend to use that Italeri water tank to build this Fire Truck version (if I ever get around to it!) Will also use those left over Italeri DUKW tires for this one as well.

I have everything I need for the build except the Darley water pump and Tom just connected me to that on SW.

I contacted Darley in hopes they still had tech manuals/engineering drawings for my doing a scratch build on this pump but sadly no.

Don't waste your time on the Italeri DUKW wheels - they are undersized inaccurate garbage! Get some DEF Model DUKW wheels instead. (No point doing all that scratch work only to ruin it with bad wheels!)

But I thought there was a smaller "Super Single" sized tire the same size as the regular Deuce tire???

Thanks for the water truck parts and Opel front axle. I think our cat and the carpet monster are running a con. After moving the bag around (liked the bag, shapeways 5th wheel 😂 ), he started running off with the tool cabinet. The monster tried to take a rear spring. I successfully wrestled the parts away from both and into the correct boxes.

For the Studebaker front axle, I found these photos, photobucket water mark.

There was, it came out post-war and was nominally 10.50-18 size to avoid confusion with the DUKW's 11.00-18 MD tyres. But it was essentially the same size as the DUKW tyre but with stiffer sidewalls and chunkier tread. In 1:35 scale it would still be 29mm diameter like the AM DUKW wheels, instead of the 25mm diameter of the Italeri wheels. It might be worth looking at some of the other AM sets (Mig, etc) to see if any of them are the right size but with more square tread. I did CAD up a set (tried them on SW but they wanted an eye-watering price!) but have nobody to deal with to get them cast for cheaper traditional resin production.

[EDIT: You could get a reasonable facsimile with Tamiya's M8 Greyhound tyres, but the rims are wrong so you'd need to cut them out and graft in the rims from Italeri's DUKW wheels.]
