Complete set includes front and rear banjo axles, rear main leaf springs, rear booster springs, rear shock absorbers, brake drums, gas tank and a beautifully done rendition of the Dayton fifth wheel.

Additionally the front axle is positionable!

I suggest you start with the Italeri hard cab water truck Deuce for this conversion, just recently reissued.
(BEST inexpensive Deuce hard cab out there!)

It had occurred to me that I have done several "unofficial" new product reviews on Armorama in the past, so why couldn't I do one on your great new offering? !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!

So I did! -------------------------------------


That scooter is called a Cushman Flightline Delivery - it uses the rear of the standard Cushman motor scooter bike and adds an "ice cream" load box to the front along with two-wheel handlebar steering. This vehicle was standard military production during WWII just like the Cushman paratrooper model.

Looks great.

Based on early text with his fifth wheel, I am hoping with a few additions he can release a similar set for the ICM Studebaker kit in the future.

By the way, I CAD-ed up some underbody details for the Black Diamond version of the T118A stake-side trailer - to make scratching mine a little easier. Printing the whole thing would be far too expensive, but I'll use plastic to create the main structure and add printed springs and landing-gear to detail it out! More info as/when my test print arrives...

Ryan -I would think you could just order the fifth wheel separately, Shorten the frame slightly (not sure that is even necessary for the Stude) and you are good to go!

I made a similar conversion to the HobbyBoss White 666 truck and plan to get Tom's very nice fifth wheel to up grade my previous build!



Here is my rear frame end conversion using the fifth wheel available from "Custom Factory".

I already have my scratch built stake side trailer but now I need Tom's Chevy to pull it! (Trailer uses Italeri Deuce wheels, springs and rear end sill and taillights.)



Tailer has working landing legs. Still can't believe I pulled that one off. That fragile mechanisms should have self-destructed years ago!

Tom's rear suspension and banjo axles are also everything you need to build the two-axle Chevy 1 1/2 ton cargo truck!



This one started life as a Tamiya Deuce with an Italeri water truck cab and a much reworked and shortened Tamiya rear load box. The Ben Hur is scratch built using Tamiya wheels and Italeri springs plus narrowed Steyr front fenders. (I think, or maybe Opel Blitz rear fenders ???)

Nice build.

As discussed in the deuce thread. The frame needs to be cut in two places and new front axle and back plate. I plan to follow Marcos’s great build.

I don’t have the other ICM kit so a front axle in the set would be helpful to others in the same boat. The closest I have is the Zis-5 front axle that looks similar.

I have so many Opel and Deuce parts that I have separate LARGE spares boxes dedicated to just those two vehicles!

I once saw one of the original WWII van bodies running around Lexington, KY and didn't have the presence of mind to chase it down. Note that it has a total of 3 (three) rear doors. A small horizontal tailgate with double ambulance doors above that. The ambulance doors DO NOT run down behind the tailgate but stop just above it. This allows long objects such as boards or poles to be carried while leaving the rest of the load otherwise secured.



Notice: No mud flaps to save on rubber.
