Here are some pics of my Dragon 1/35 Tiger II.. I am about done with the base build, and will probably finish in a "hard edged" ambush finish.. The model is OOB except for the addition of Friulmodel tracks and wire for the headlamp..
Opinions and comments are welcome...

You planning on leaving all the fenders off? I think you need to do some sort of wear and tear like bent or missing fenders or something. Otherwise it looks like a great factory fresh build.

Hi hworth18,
Great build! She looks awesome as she is...but I bet it'll even be better when the paintjob is done. Please keep us informed.
BTW do you have pictures of the hard-edge ambush camo scheme? I'm planning to do one as well on my Panther G, but I can't fing any clear reference pics...

Captain94,
The Ambush paint scheme was developed by the Germans late in the war, it was basically Dunklegreb (dark yellow), Rotbraun (dark brown) and either dark green or olive green camo scheme with "dots" of yellow or lighter colors dotted on the opposite color.. I will try and find a decent pic to show an example of it..

Nice job so far. A couple of questions, is the interior white? I think it should be more of a cream or an ivory color. It may just be the pics, you can never tell.
Also, why paint before you add the fenders, screens, etc? I am curious as I have found this to be a real pain in the keester.
Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks, hworth18!
That pic was just what I needed , I can use it as a great reference to paint up my German armor.
Cheers

Scott,
The only painting I have done is the inside of the turret and the base coat on the exterior.. I like to shoot a base coat before assembly to assure everything gets painted.
I add the PE, and some other external stuff then shoot the final paint scheme. I then add the exterior accessories... It just depends on what scheme I am painting, what has to be added later and whether the exterior items are painted like the scheme.
On this particular KT, I am going to change my mind and go with the "soft edge" ambush scheme, just because I haven't seen a good pic of a "hard edged" scheme and the examples I have seen, I don't like...
The exterior accessories WILL be painted in the same scheme as the tank, so I will add most everything and paint it complete..

If you need them, I probably have shots of hard edged camo on Tiger II's. If not, you can really do either one. Crews painted their Konigstigers on a tank by tank basis, and there are not hard and fast rules on the camoflauge from tank to tank. Some crews sprayed, some hand painted. Some used gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, or even urine to thin the paint and apply it late in the war. Send me a message if you want some hard edges shots. Also try www.missing-lynx on the Axis forum, and do a search for King Tiger. I know you will find it there.
Good luck.

A bit more on the ambush scheme.
The dots had there beginnings in Normandy. Some vehicle crews painted the dots on to help camoflage the vehicles as they were often parked under trees due to the allied air threat.
It helped to conceal the vehicle from both the air and ground as the sun shining through the leaves onto the underlying vehicle would have a spotted effect on the ground.
